Kathleen Palkon Obituary

Kathleen Mavourneen Palkon, of Lincoln University, PA, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2024, with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was the daughter of the late Daniel Gribbon and Margaret (Heuber) Gribbon. Born and raised in Oakford, she briefly resided in Trevose with her family before moving to Lincoln University in 2004.

A 1985 graduate of Archbishop Wood High School, she continued on to Temple University where she received a dual degree in Finance and Accounting.  Her biggest accomplishment, however, was her family. She loved spending time with them in her backyard by the pool and vacationing with them in Myrtle Beach, SC. Her favorite way to relax was snuggling up on the couch with her beloved cat, Max.

She is survived by her best friend and husband of 33 years, Christopher Palkon, Sr.; three children: Kaitlyn (Todd) Hoffman, Carley Anne Palkon, and Christopher Palkon, Jr; siblings Mary Anne (Walter) Beckman, Kevin (Anna) Gribbon, Patricia (Andrew) Mumich, Sharon (Jerry) Shirey, and Daniel II (Dayna) Gribbon as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was the best Mommom to her grandson, John Hoffman, whom she absolutely adored and affectionately nicknamed “Johnny.”

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Gribbon, Jr.

Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church, 809 S. Broom Street, Wilmington, DE 19805 on Monday, April 29th, 2024. Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. The interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kathleen’s name to the PA Breast Cancer Coalition https://www.pabreastcancer.org/.
